Who is crashing Atlas?
Crashing Atlas is a hard rock powerhouse from Maryland, renowned for their explosive sound and emotionally charged lyrics. The band made a significant impact with their debut full-length album, Black Sky Sunrise, released on June 18, 2021. This album marked the beginning of a new era for the band, highlighting the formidable vocal talent of Marina Heath and solidifying their place in the rock scene.
The journey of Crashing Atlas began in 2016 when guitarist Doug Jokerst set out to reinvent the female-fronted rock landscape. His steadfast ambition has been a driving force behind the band’s evolution.
Their breakthrough came with the release of the single "Monster," a track that delves into personal struggles and inner demons. "Monster" addresses themes of depression, addiction, and self-image, resonating deeply with listeners striving for their best selves. This was followed by "The Light," which further shaped the instrumental and lyrical direction of Black Sky Sunrise. The album was crafted during the band's quarantine in 2020, a period dedicated to defining their sound.
In 2023, Crashing Atlas unveiled "Capacities," a powerful testament to their growth within the hard rock genre. The song captures the fear of losing passion and motivation amidst uncertainty. With this renewed focus, the band embraced a new chapter by relocating to Nashville, Tennessee, the heart of music city. The band continues to thrive in Nashville, channeling their passion into writing a new record. This upcoming work promises a blend of ripping riffs and unforgettable hooks, embodying their relentless drive and honoring their core sound.
Crashing Atlas has released “Who's Sorry Now?” as their first single of 2025. The song is about a triumph over self doubt after everyone around you has perpetuated that feeling into you. It’s about walking away from those false perceptions and building a new identity and embracing a positive ego.
Singer, Marina Heath, describes the song saying: "I’ve always been bad at standing up for myself and this song is my declaration of strength. Confrontation to unhealthy levels deserves defiance. And I deserve respect. While you made me apologize for your behavior, I have to wonder who’s sorry now? Cause it sure as hell is not me."
